When the course is flat and speed is of the essence, Vel’s mixed depth 6085 RL Carbon Tubeless Disc Wheelset is a great option. It offers maximum speed and aerodynamics at the back combined with a slightly shallower front wheel for easy handling. Both wheels benefit from wide Toray 24/30T carbon rims, with an internal measurement of 20.3mm to provide good support to the tyre’s sidewalls whilst the 27.5mm external width offers a smooth transition for the air as it flows over the rim/tyre interface.

Built by hand, aerodynamic straight-pull Pillar Wing spokes lace the rims to the hubs in a two-cross pattern for strength and stiffness, providing a solid platform for both the Center Lock discs and power transfer. Both Vel RE hubs roll on sealed bearings for ease of maintenance and longevity, with the freehub using a 102 tooth engagement ring for rapid engagement when it’s time to accelerate out of a corner or for the sprint finish. Tubeless rim tape is pre-fitted to the wheels and as they are also supplied with tubeless valves, conversion to use without inner tubes is an easy process, giving the ability to run lower pressures for more comfort and grip without risking pinch punctures.

Crashes, unexpected accidents and falls can happen under normal riding conditions, therefore if your product has been registered within 3 months of purchase we will offer to replace it with the identical or equivalent product up to 40% off RRP within the first 3 years of ownership. This crash replacement policy only applies to the original owner.

Limited warranty

Vel wheels come with a two-year limited warranty for manufacturing or material defects that would appear during normal use, with the exception of wear and tear parts. The warranty is extended to 3 years if registered within the first 3 months from the purchase date.
