Product Details

Combining Zipp’s extensive aerodynamic expertise with advanced carbon construction, the 404 Firecrest Carbon Tubeless Clincher Rear Wheel delivers speed, stability and versatility across a wide range of riding conditions.

Whether powering over rolling terrain, pushing the pace in a breakaway, racing against the clock or sprinting for the line, the 404 Firecrest balances aerodynamic efficiency with low weight, lateral stiffness and confident handling.

Aerodynamic Firecrest Rim

The 58mm-deep carbon rim uses Zipp’s AeroBalance design philosophy to reduce aerodynamic drag while maintaining stability in crosswinds. Developed using CFD simulations, wind-tunnel testing and professional rider feedback, the rim is designed to perform across a broad range of yaw angles.

Zipp’s distinctive ABLC dimples help manage airflow across the rim surface, further reducing drag and improving aerodynamic performance.

Tubeless-Ready Performance

A wide internal rim profile supports both tubeless-ready and standard clincher tyres, giving riders greater flexibility when choosing their setup.

The wider profile helps create an optimised tyre shape, contributing to lower rolling resistance, improved compliance and increased cornering grip.

Confident Carbon Braking

Zipp’s Showstopper brake track features a friction-generating textured surface to provide powerful, predictable braking performance in both dry and wet conditions.

ZR1 Hub

At the centre of the wheel is Zipp’s German-engineered ZR1 hub, featuring smooth-running bearings and durable seals for reliable long-term performance.

A 66-point freehub engagement provides a quick response when putting power through the pedals.

Sapim CX-Ray Spokes

Highly regarded Sapim CX-Ray spokes are paired with a 2-cross lacing pattern and even spoke tensions to create a stiff, efficient and dependable wheel build.
