Cannondale CAAD Optimo 105 Road Bike 2019
Whether you are buying your first ever road bike or looking to upgrade to something a little more competitive and high-performing, the Cannondale CAAD Optimo 105 Road Bike is as good a place to start as any. The CAAD lineup (standing for Cannondale Advanced Aluminium Design) has become a byword for outstanding alloy framesets, delivering superb performance attributes at a price far below that of a more vaunted carbon counterpart.
This frameset provides a lightweight and impressively stiff platform for your efforts on the bike, ensuring that as much of your power is transferred into the road as possible. Cannondale's SAVE technology is also incorporated, in order to soak up vibrations from the road and ensure that you can ride in comfort no matter how long you are out on the road.
The Shimano 105 groupset, meanwhile, is a great addition at this price point. Considered as the first of Shimano's 'performance' groupsets, delivering extremely slick shifting and coming in at a remarkably respectable total weight. A compact chainset, when combined with the 11-30 cassette, provides you with a good depth of gears fit for getting you over even the toughest hills you encounter. The fact that 105 is 11-speed, meanwhile, means that the steps between those gears are smaller and more manageable - meaning you can maintain a smooth, regular cadence on all gradients.
The Maddux rims provide a tough and reliable set of wheels that you can rely on to keep you rolling, while the Formula hubs are smooth and frictionless. Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
