##Colnago C64 Road Frameset (Sloping Geometry) A brand renowned for designing and producing bikes with a top-quality Italian construction, Colnago are in their 64th year and have released the C64 Road Frameset with sloping geometry to celebrate. Handmade in Italy, this frame is compatible with both mechanical and electronic groupsets. There have been a number of updates from its predecessor to ensure increased rigidity and compliance. This re-design has resulted in a weight reduction of around 200 grams and the 3K carbon finish has been replaced with lighter UD (unidirectional) carbon. The fork has been completely redesigned and has an external rib shape for comfort and ride feel, as well as an internal rib in the steerer tube to enhance stiffness and strength. Pivots for the direct-mount brakes are housed inside the fork, making more space for wider tyres. Full carbon dropouts replace the alloy dropouts used on the C60. The thickness and, consequently, the weight of the headtube have been reduced, and the shape revised to increase side stiffness. Technology in the headset has been borrowed from the Concept, and the material updated to improve vibration damping, making every ride a comfortable experience. The heavily shaped downtube was revised in the lower area and narrowed to match the rear triangle. A recessed bottle area creates two ribs in the middle of the downtube that increase torsional stiffness. A further benefit of this new design is reduced drag, and the cable stops for mechanical shifting have been relocated to the downtube. The seat tube and seat tube lug now have a single-piece design, increasing rigidity and keeping the weight down. The seatpost has been based on the V2-R and has a more aerodynamic design, while the seat clamp is integrated and has a single removable part that is tightened from beneath. The bottom bracket lug is designed for the proven ThreadFit82.5 bottom bracket and the cable guide is moulded into the lug for added weight savings and improved shifting. Asymmetric chainstays, with a far wider left side, increase power transfer so that all your watts are translated into speed. In the rear triangle, the dropouts and the chainstays have a new one-piece construction that helps keep the weight low and the vertical compliance high.
