DT Swiss, a company with over 350 years of history in Biel, Switzerland, continues to produce its spokes entirely in-house to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. These spokes are among the lightest and most aerodynamic available, engineered for top-level performance wheels.

The aero section measures 2mm at the ends, flattening to a 0.9 x 2.3mm bladed section in the middle to optimise airflow. Hubs can be laced normally, with no slotting of spoke holes required, preserving hub flange strength. Unlike other brands that stretch and weaken spokes to butt them, DT Swiss uses a patented ultrasonic peening process to cold forge the spoke, strengthening the metal and providing the best strength-to-weight ratio of any butted spokes.

Exclusively crafted from Swedish X5 stainless steel, custom blended for DT, the rolling of the nipple thread removes no metal and preserves the material’s grain. This maximises strength and significantly reduces the risk of thread failure, a common issue with lower-quality spokes.
