Orbea Avant M30 Team Disc Road Bike 2020
For riders who prefer the longer stuff, this Orbea Avant M30 Team Disc Road Bike is ideal, bringing comfort to the forefront of the design. The frameset retains strength and stiffness while keeping weight to a minimum thanks to Orbea Monocoque Performance (OMP) technology, blending high modulus, high strength fibres into the layup, while the carbon layup creates flex where required for the smoothest possible ride, so you can enjoy even the poorest road surfaces and suffer less from the negative effects of fatigue even after hours in the saddle. There is no compromise on performance though in the quest for comfort, and the headtube, downtube and chainstays are torsionally stiff to ensure power transfer is efficient and all your watts are translated into speed. Avant Endurance Geometry also helps to position you perfectly for arduous hours of riding, preventing aches and pains that may occur from a more aggressive position.
The bike is built up for a mix of performance and reliability, using Shimano Ultegra components that'll shift with precision across the wide-ranging cassette, while the hydraulic brakes bring the stopping power you need for confidence at speed and on more technical routes. The Orbea wheelset is a solid choice, keeping you rolling comfortably over rougher roads and fast when the tarmac is smooth. Finished with frame-size-specific handlebar, stem and cranks, dialling in the optimum position is made simple.
- Orbea Monocoque Performance (OMP) adds high modulus and high strength fibres to a standard layup to improve the stiffness-to-weight ratio
- Bladder moulding with polyurethane headtube and bottom bracket inserts eliminates wrinkles in critical zones, allowing less carbon to be used while maintaining strength
- Avant’s Dynamic Structure provides a smooth, light ride without bulky compromises like tubing inserts and elastomers. The natural flex patterns created by the carbon layup and minimal bulk of the top tube and seatstays deliver a dynamic, smooth ride that feels like floating over rough roads
- The headtube, downtube and chainstays are shaped to resist twisting and transmit power to the rear wheel
- Avant Endurance Geometry endurance ergonomics result in a bike that is easier to ride and increases stamina. Handling is precise and intuitive
- The Avant fork uses a shallower, rounded-blade profile and longer fork legs to offer the best combination of elasticity, tyre clearance and torsional stiffness. The increased axle-to-crown height is offset by a shorter headtube to maintain stack measurements and improve aesthetics
- Shimano 105 R7000 11-speed disc groupset
- Orbea clincher wheels and Vittoria Zafiro IV 28c tyres
