Santa Cruz Blur Carbon C S Reserve 29" Mountain Bike 2020
Light and fast, the Blur Carbon C S Reserve Mountain Bike is part of Santa Cruz’s 29” wheeled XC race range but is equally well suited to rapid trail rides or off-road marathons. The 100mm travel carbon frame borrows some design cues from their downhill bikes to ensure good stiffness for maximum power transfer, whilst still weighing only just over two kilograms. The renowned VPP (Virtual Pivot Point) design provides plush, traction-giving suspension and keeps bob to a minimum, even when climbing or sprinting out of the saddle. Both the FOX Step-Cast 32 Performance fork and Float Performance DPS rear shock can be locked out with the handlebar remote to further improve efficiency on any smooth sections. Particularly impressive is the Dual Piston System (DPS) in the rear unit which provides improved rebound and compression damping for a more controlled ride.
The upgraded wheels marry Santa Cruz’s own Reserve Carbon rims with DT Swiss 370 hubs and spokes for a significant weight saving and a better ride than the standard wheelset with the Maxxis Aspen tyres offering low rolling resistance and speed. SRAM’s 12-speed GX Eagle groupset and Level TL hydraulic disc brakes take care of gear shifting and braking duties, providing a wide range of ratios and stopping power sufficient for any race course or trail.
