Santa Cruz Chameleon Alloy 7.1 D 29" Mountain Bike 2020
A truly versatile steed, the Santa Cruz Chameleon Alloy D 29" Mountain Bike continues a long line of succession in this classic design. With its genuinely all-encompassing ethic, the Chameleon refuses to be pigeonholed and succeeds across all terrain from rugged woodland trails through to jump lines and beyond.
The frame follows a proven formula that has been honed by Santa Cruz throughout several years. Stable, solid geometry joins the rugged, reliable aluminium frame material to result in crisp cornering and snappy acceleration. The Rockshox Recon RL suspension fork then collaborates with the frame and brings with it an assured and stable ride quality, even over rough surfaces, via its plush suspension levels.
The WTB ST i25 rims are durable and dependable and are laced to the slick, low maintenance SRAM MTH hubs to create a 29er wheelset that will glide through the most rutted of ground with consummate ease. Built within a boost format, these wheels also allow for increased trail accuracy via enhanced stiffness before the Maxxis tyres establish grip over multiple ground types.
The Chameleon is set for any topography with its wide-ratio, 12-speed SRAM SX Eagle gear set-up while power transfer to these gears is imparted adeptly by the stiff crank arm and DUB axle coalition. Modulated and accurate stopping power is then donated by a hydraulic brake set up and Avid 180mm rotors.
A robust and reliable Race Face handlebar and stem partnership see to brisk changes in direction and complete the build before intelligent adaptability is offered by changeable dropouts that allow the use of either 29er or 27.5+ wheels and their accompanying different tyre widths.
