Specialized Epic Evo Comp Mountain Bike 2021
By making a few small but important changes to their XC race bike, the Specialized Epic has turned into a much more rounded, trail-capable machine; the Evo Comp Mountain Bike. The evolution includes giving the frame and fork more travel, more aggressive geometry and components more suited to technical riding, all while keeping the speed and efficiency of its podium seeking ancestor.
The FACT 11m Full Carbon frame is 15% stiffer in the rear triangle than previously, which helps both in terms of efficiency and to keep the frame tracking true through rock gardens. A Flip-Chip allows the head angle to be steepened by 0.5° and the bottom bracket raised by 6mm if so required, and the 110mm of rear travel eschews the Brain-controlled activation of the race version for a plusher, always active RockShox Deluxe Select+ unit. This makes the Epic Evo perfect for long marathon events or multi-day races where fatigue can be staved off for longer by the more forgiving ride. An extra 20mm of travel has been added to the fork, so the RockShox SID Select+ offers 120mm to balance with the extra rear travel and give the bike a harder-hitting character.
Component wise, the switch to Evo spec includes X-Fusion Manic dropper seatpost, Specialized Ground Control front tyre, and 4-piston hydraulic brakes from Shimano’s SLX range for fade-free stopping power. Shimano SLX shifters and derailleur are in control of the 12-speed gears, with the 10-51 tooth cassette making short work of climbs and descents alike, underlining the bike’s wide-ranging abilities.

Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
