The frame of the Epic Comp Carbon is constructed with Specialized’s renowned FACT 10m carbon fibre. Unlike the full suspension versions of the Specialized Epic, the entirety of this bike is made from carbon fibre - drastically reducing weight and enhancing stiffness for a more efficient ride.

The incorporation of Specialized XC 29 Geometry further enhances the climbing and technical capabilities of the Epic Comp Carbon, pinning focus on explosive speed and nimble handling rather than a more relaxed, enduring ride, much like other hardtails.

SRAM’s GX drivetrain has been recruited by Specialized to further enhance efficiency and power transfer. This system provides a wide range of gearing to tackle steep, technical sections of the course, whilst giving enough stiffness and strength to withstand unforeseen rock strikes. The gearing is controlled through SRAM’s NX gear lever and provides precise, reliable shifting throughout every stage of your ride.

Shimano M506 hydraulic disc brakes are in charge of the immense stopping power of this bike and modulate heat excellently. This means that when you’re riding on long, downhill sections of track, you’ll have the same braking power at the beginning as you do at the end. They also perform as well in the wet as they do in the dry, ensuring that wet-weather cycling doesn’t have to be treacherous.

Specialized disc wheels stay strong throughout explosive power outputs and cornering at high speeds, whilst Specialized Fast Trak 29x2.2” tyres provide ample levels of grip and puncture protection for a more controlled and reliable ride.
