Trek Emonda SL 8 RED H2 Road Bike 2016
New to the market, Trek set out to produce a bike that was the lightest in every model and every size. What they produced was the featherweight Trek Emonda SL 8 RED H2 Road Bike 2016.
The name Emonda comes from the French word 'émonder', which means to prune or to strip away. This is exactly what Trek have done by eliminating everything that was unnecessary. The bike was developed with help from the Trek Factory Race Team, to produce a rider tuned and balanced bike, resulting in the ultimate ride experience.

Frame
The SL frame is the second tier frame in the Emonda line up. Featuring Trek's OCLV 500 series carbon. The 500 series is incredibly lightweight, strong and has been used in the Madone and Domane range.
The 500 series offers an exceptional stiffness to weight ratio, through OCLV net moulding. This process allows for Trek to create tight- tolerance, precise shapes. This ensures the frame offers the best ride quality an performance. The technology has been used on the integrated, cupless BB90 bottom bracket and cupless net moulded head-tube.
The rider tuned seat-pin uses the lightest and most comfortable daily performance. Using a no-cut design the traditional seatpost clamping forces are eliminated, meaning less material is used at the seat cable junction. This again adds to the frame's featherweight credentials.
Electronic drive train integration allows for seamless internal routing with proprietary seat tube and bottom bracket battery mounts.
The Trek exclusive BB90 is the widest available on a road bike and makes the frame lighter, stiffer and accelerate better.
Integrated Duo Trap S compatibility allows speed and cadence data to be sent seamlessly via bluetooth or Ant technology to your smartphone, bike computer or other compatible device.
The H2 fit is a geometry that suits most riders. With a good balance between an all out racing position and a more relaxed one. This makes the bike ideal for racing but also more than capable of racking up long miles on.
Tipping the scales at a mere 6.81 kilograms this is a climber's dream. It is not just the frame that contributes to this impressive weight. SRAM have included their flagship RED groupset. Exceptionally smooth, reliable and precise, with a compact chainset making climbing and spinning along a breeze.
Bontrager have always had a close working relationship with Trek. The American company have adorned the bike in high quality parts. With a Bontrager Race Lite handlebar and Race X Lite stem and a very comfortable but lightweight Bontrager Paradigm RL saddle.
Finished off with Bontrager Race Tubeless Ready wheels and Bontrager R3 Hard-Case Lite tyres. This is a fast, lightweight and durable setup, offering exceptional grip and performance.

Technical Specification
Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
