Trek Rail 9.8 GX Electric Mountain Bike 2021
The Trek Rail 9.8 GX is a long-travel Electric Mountain Bike that hammers descents and soars up climbs with an extra 250w of assistance at up to 25km/h, thanks to the Bosch Performance CX motor - Bosch's lightest, smallest and most efficient motor to date. Trek's RIB technology ensures that the Bosch Powertube 625 battery is concealed neatly within the carbon body of this bike, in the downtube, preserving a clean aesthetic and ensuring simplified, tool-free removal when a charge is required. This sleek battery integration means there's still room for a bottle cage to be mounted and a full charge is complete in less than five hours.
Hefty 38mm stanchions on the RockShox ZEB Select+ fork mean no flexing and 160mm of plush, chatter-smoothing suspension, with 150mm to the rear in the RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate - complete with an updated RE:aktiv thru shaft damper for swift reactions to testing terrain.
The 1x12-speed SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain means snappy shifting and gearing options to best keep pedal strokes even when gradients ramp up, resulting in consistent functioning of the motor for the most efficient application of power. A super-low 52-tooth climbing gear keeps the legs spinning over rises, whilst the single chainring streamlines post-ride maintenance.
Flip the Mino Link for a quick geometry adjustment to best suit the ride and when weight needs to drop low over the rear wheel during descents, the Bontrager Line Elite Dropper Seatpost is a practical addition to this rip-roaring bike. Burly Bontrager SE5 Team Issue tyres ensure traction over rough terrain and opening it up on descents is no issue with stopping duties covered by the SRAM Code R 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes.

Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
