Description
Abbey Bike Tools Modular Bearing Press Kit
The Abbey Bike Tools Modular Bearing Press With Handles offers smooth operation and a high-quality build, designed to allow the pressing of a wide range of bottom brackets and headsets with minimal effort.
Unlike most press heads that are merely nuts, Abbey Bike Tools has developed a solid thrust bearing with balls and races, ensuring a smooth pressing action that is separate from the torque. It can be turned by hand using the brand’s distinctive finger spline pattern, or for extra leverage, the engineers have added a pair of sturdy machined handles, extending the length by up to five inches.
The press kit includes nine drifts as standard, all precisely machined for a perfect fit, along with a centring cone that can be used on the empty side of a hub, frame or linkage to ensure the press remains concentric with the bore. Each component is sized to the half inch acme thread to guarantee that bearings or headsets are pressed in straight every time.
At the opposite end of the press, a robust quick nut slides onto the thread and up to the drift with minimal turning before clicking securely into place. It can be operated easily with one hand and provides fast, smooth action without any risk of pinching, making the entire process quicker and simpler.
Abbey advises fitting bearings one at a time using the centring cone to ensure they seat straight with minimal fuss and no risk of damage to the bearings, frame or tools.
The Modular Bearing Press With Handles is elegantly simple and delivers smooth performance on bottom brackets and headsets with very little effort.
