The Cervelo Caledonia-5 RED eTap AXS 12-Speed Disc Road Bike is the high-performance choice for riders who value speed, comfort and control. It takes the lessons learned from their R5 and Aspero bikes along with some pro-only Roubaix specials. With a longer rear-centre measurement and more trail than the full-bore race models, and with generous clearances for 34mm tyres, the Caledonia-5 will make mincemeat of poorly maintained roads and double century rides as well as any town sign sprints. There is more than a nod to aerodynamics in the chosen tube shapes whilst the bike’s efficiency is clearly evidenced by its oversized downtube and beefy bottom bracket area. The inclusion of hidden mudguard mounts and a neat integrated stem design that still allows easy adjustment add to the bike’s practicality.

SRAM’s top tier 12-speed RED eTap AXS groupset provides the sublime shifting, with the fully wireless electronic system using just a single large paddle on either side to make changing gear instant and effortless even with winter gloves on. The clever Orbit Chain Management system used in the rear derailleur damps any movement to keep the drivetrain quiet and prevent chain slap, even on rough roads or trails, and SRAM’s innovative 12-speed gear range offers a wide choice of ratios whilst also reducing the jumps between gears to a minimum. This is done by using a 10-33t cassette that is paired with a smaller than usual 48/35t chainset that also includes a power meter for more effective training.

The Zipp 303 S carbon wheelset is perfect for the wider 28mm Vittoria Corsa Control tyres specified, with the 23mm internal width providing good support for the sidewalls when cornering. Both tyres and rims are tubeless-ready, so it’s easy to convert them to use without inner tubes, allowing lower air pressures without fear of pinch punctures for greater comfort and reduced rolling resistance on heavy roads.

Cervelo’s own carbon seatpost, stem and handlebar keep the weight low and further improve the bike’s comfort and performance.
