Sidi Drako 2 SRS Mountain Bike Shoes
When Sidi designed the Drako 2 SRS Mountain Bike Shoes it seems as if they left no stone unturned in their quest to make a really great off-road shoe. This is a shoe with a lot going on.
Comfort is provided by the water and mould resistant Microfibra Techpro upper which is wrapped around the foot by two closure systems. The first holds the instep in place by way of a thermos-formed EVA pad which can be centred over the foot and secured by a Tecno-3 mechanism. The second, independent system draws the upper around the lower part of the foot and spreads the load across four points. Both systems can be adjusted on-the-fly as required. The heel retention device allows the heel cup to be customised and fitted exactly to the foot - even asymmetrically if preferred. This will ensure that the shoes stay put even clambering up steep muddy slopes carrying a cyclocross bike.
Top line pedalling performance comes from the lightweight MTB SRS Carbon Ground Sole, which has the stiffness to transmit all the power to the pedals whilst also retaining a degree of flex for when the bike has to be shouldered. The deep lugs will bite hard and provide great traction, and are also compatible with additional toe-spikes for the worst conditions.
Sidi realise that shoes like these are going to lead a very hard life. To this end, Sidi have made sure that the Drako 2 SRS are fully serviceable. The front and rear sole lugs are replaceable, as are the fastening mechanisms. There is an integrated MTB plate to protect the carbon sole from pedal damage, which is also replaceable, as is the heel retention system. Both heel and toe areas feature extra material to protect from the inevitable scuffs.
