The Specialized S-Works Venge Road Frameset has managed to improve its aerodynamic performance while shedding an impressive amount of weight when compared to its predecessor. This significant upgrade has seen it awarded by Road.cc as Road Superbike of the Year for 2018/19. Extensive research in Specialized's own wind tunnel, 3D modelling, CAD drawings, and rider feedback were all part of the relentless design process for the S-Works Venge. The result is Specialized's fastest ever road bike frameset that weighs 290 grams less than the previous version (frame, fork and seatpost). Specialized have discovered the optimum tube shapes which, when combined with their FACT 11r carbon fibre layup, deliver the best possible aerodynamic performance whilst using as little material as possible. In other words, you can't make a more aerodynamic frameset this light. The aerodynamic tube shaping continues with the included aero seatpost, which features an electronic groupset charging terminal to the rear; perfect for Shimano Di2 systems. It's important to note that since this frameset is designed to be as aerodynamic as possible, it is only compatible with electronic groupsets and disc brakes. With an OSBB bottom bracket featuring CeramicSpeed bearings, this frameset is ready to help you squeeze every last watt through your preferred drivetrain. The downtube is drilled with three bottle cage bosses in order to deliver the optimum performance depending on how many bottles you prefer to ride with. If using one bottle, mount your cage on the lower two points, if using two bottles, mount the downtube bottle on the upper two mounts. This delivers optimal aerodynamics and handling for each setup.
