Offering a versatile option, Vel’s handbuilt 3850 RL Carbon Tubeless Disc Wheelset combines a 38mm deep front wheel with a 50mm deep rear. This means that the steering won’t be affected by blustery winds but that the aerodynamic advantages of a deeper rim are maximised at the back, making this an ideal wheelset for varied routes in all conditions. 

The Toray 24/30T carbon rims have an internal width of over 20mm to better support wider style tyres and are recommended for use with rubber up to 34mm for a smooth, comfy ride with improved grip. As the rims come pre-taped with tubeless tape and the wheels are supplied with tubeless valves, setting them up for use without inner tubes is quick and easy, but inner tubes can still be used if preferred. 

With six pawls and 102 tooth engagement ring on the Vel RE Rapid Engagement rear hub, pick-up and acceleration out of corners or when sprinting are near-instant and the two-cross, straight-pull Pillar Wing spokes transfer the power straight to the tarmac.

Crash replacement policy

Crashes, unexpected accidents and falls can happen under normal riding conditions, therefore if your product has been registered within 3 months of purchase we will offer to replace it with an identical or equivalent product up to 40% off RRP within the first 3 years of ownership. This crash replacement policy only applies to the original owner. 

Limited warranty

Vel wheels come with a two year limited warranty for manufacturing or material defects that would appear during normal use, with the exception of wear and tear parts. The warranty is extended to 3 years if registered within the first 3 months from purchase date.
