HED Jet Black Stallion Clincher Disc Wheel
HED's Jet Black Stallion Clincher Disc Wheel has great aesthetics, with an all black brake finish, and exceptional braking performance; up to 70% shorter stopping distances in the wet.
A 25mm external rim width ensures the ultimate in clincher tyre performance; the profile is wider and shorter, decreasing rolling resistance and increasing grip in corners, and with wider tyres comes more comfort and increased speed.
The 'hybrid skeletal' construction has an aerodynamic carbon 'skin', with an aluminium tyre junction and braking surface. The aluminium rim is linked to the hub by 28 Sapin CX-Ray spokes - four more than the standard version of the wheel, for added strength.
The carbon sides are bonded on to the wheel structure and the width and unique shape of the profile make this wheel extremely aerodynamic. The 25mm rim width continues 70mm towards the hub, tapers in and then flares out again, forming a bulbous shape. This reduces drag by increasing the airflow and wheel contact time, resulting in more stability in cross winds and increased speed.
The HED Sonic hub is constructed with ABEC 5 stainless steel bearings and the oversized 15mm diameter axle reduces peak load and increases bearing life.
Two 5mm allen keys are all you need to keep this wheel in top condition and perform maintenance, and it is particularly suited to riders over 90kg, otherwise select the HED Jet Black Clincher Disc Wheel. All rider setups are catered for with Shimano/SRAM and Campagnolo compatibility.
