The design has a smart, clean appearance and fuses electronic technological advancements with a carbon pulley cage, ceramic pulley bearings, and anodised alloy.

This derailleur is compatible with SRAM RED® eTap shift/brake controls and this short cage version has a maximum tooth capacity of 28T. With the battery, this derailleur weighs a mere 239g.

With 128-bit encryption, Airea™ is SRAM's wireless protocol that ensures secure shifting. The pairing of a new eTap groupset creates a new encryption code assigned specifically to the components in the group.

The index shifting system is extremely simple to set up and maintain thanks to Exact Actuation technology. This MTB proven technology of a 1:1 actuation ratio stabilises the balancing of rear derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing, and exact cable tension.
