Description
Pinarello Dogma 2 Frameset 2012
The resulting bike they called the Dogma2, similar in personality to the 6.01 but elevated to a new level of perfection. The numbers advertised are: 6% more asymmetric; 6% less drag at the front; 19% more ridid at the front; 14% more lateral stiffness on the fork. How did they achieve these numbers? By using Computational Fluid Dynamics and the new Expandable Polystrene System. In real terms what they've done is; increase the asymmetry on the fork, top tube, seatstay and downtube, and on both chainstays, producing a bike which deflects less under power; increase the lower headset bearing to 1.5” and fill in the space behind the fork, stiffening up the front, improving braking, tracking and aerodynamics; create smoother flowing lines by re-shaping ribbing at key points on the frame.
It would be hard to imagine a better bicycle, much less design one. In testing, this frame rendered a ride which was supremely stable, pacifyingly smooth and yet incredibly fast. It is an utterly efficient machine in all aspects, with the manners and pedigree of an Italian count.
The frameset is offered in two versions, standard or electronic and comes in 12 sizes. Geometry on the Dogma2 has been tweaked slightly for 2012, with the head tube being 5mm taller per size. This will facilitate fitting a wider range of people to the frame. Cable routing is neat and discreet and seatpost is included.
