ISM 4D machined to reduce weight, the lightweight Maxtal alloy presents a higher strength to weight ratio, whilst the fore drilled rim improves the integral strength of the wheel. Fine-tuned to provide less inertia for improved comfort and performance over rough terrain, the fore drilled construction allows the spokes to be threaded directly into the rim presenting an agreeable balance between compliant flex and stiffness. The SUP process finesses the rim flawlessly, and with a smoother strengthened joint Mavic have assured the aggressive rider of robust quality capable of tackling an array of terrains.
Laced with ultra light double butted steel spokes, the Spoke Retention System (SRS) secures the spokes to the hub shell confidently. With enough travel within the SRS hub slots to aid in absorbing rough and technical trails, Mavic have ensured the spokes won't pop out due to hard impacts, so you can ride full pelt with improved comfort and peace of mind.
At the heart of this wheelset runs the ITS-4 hub, constructed with a lightweight yet durable aluminium body and four strong pawls; this hub proves to be incredibly responsive, instantly transferring pedal inputs with efficient yet powerful outputs when you really need to pick up some speed. Heightening the robust properties of this hub are the double sealed QRM bearings, perfectly preloaded for desirable spin without any play on the long run.
With the potential to experience greater traction, control and improved puncture resistance, Mavic ensures only the best performance out of this wheelset, with the capacity to run a tubeless setup as well as clincher tyres thanks to the 21mm Universal Standard for Tubeless optimised rim.
